Permanent Wood Foundations (PWF)

Permanent wood foundations are an innovative building system designed to create exceptional living spaces and add value to any home.  Builders can save time by constructing permanent wood foundations faster and in all weather conditions.

The permanent wood foundation is constructed of load-bearing walls built with pressure-treated lumber and sheathed with pressure-treated plywood.  PWF can be constructed as a full basement, split entry or crawl space. CSA S406 provides requirements for constructing preserved wood foundations (PWF) in buildings up to 3-storeys and not more than 600 m2.

Homeowners choose permanent wood foundations because of their flexibility in design and comfortable living space.
